Code of Conduct on Mortgage Arrears

The Central Bank of Ireland issued a new Code of Conduct on Mortgage Arrears (the Code) that took effect on 1 January 2011. As well as covering mortgages in arrears, the new Code now covers mortgages that are not yet in arrears but where there is some difficulty in paying the full mortgage. These are called pre-arrears cases.
