The Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) is a national, free, confidential and independent service, providing advice and support to people in debt or in danger of getting into debt. Each MABS company is rooted within the communities they serve and staff work with clients to enable them to cope with immediate debt problems and assist them to develop good money management skills.
South Connacht MABS is currently seeking a:
Dedicated Mortgage Arrears (DMA) Adviser
Specified Purpose Contract (until Approx. 31 Dec 2022),
Full Time (35 Hours per week),
The Dedicated Mortgage Arrears Adviser will provide a free, independent, confidential mortgage arrears advice service to clients with mortgage arrears. Candidates must display empathy with those who find themselves in financial difficulty; knowledge and understanding of money management, consumer debt and financial services; familiarity with the provision of an advice, support and advocacy service; together with excellent communication, organisational, administrative and IT skills. This is a full time Specific Purpose contract covering short term absence and will expire when the substantive post holder returns. The DMA is a project funded by the Citizens Information Board.
The position will be located in South Mayo MABS Unit 14, Nephin Halls, Hopkins Road Castlebar Co Mayo or other locations within the South Mayo area.
DMA Adviser salary scale is currently €35,832 to €51,616 (including 2 long service increments). It is anticipated that new entrants to the MABS service will be appointed on the 1st point of the scale. Incremental credit, should it be awarded, will be based on previous relevant experience as set out on application form and cover letter.
