The Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) is a national, free, confidential and independent service, providing advice and support to people in debt or in danger of getting into debt. Each MABS company is rooted within the communities they serve and staff work with clients to enable them to cope with immediate debt problems and assist them to develop good money management skills.

South Munster MABS is currently seeking an:

Money Advice Co-ordinator

Permanent, Full Time (35 Hours per Week)

Cork City

The Role

A vacancy exists for a full time Money Advice Co-ordinator, whose role is to co-ordinate the management of the South Munster MABS – Cork city office. Candidates must display empathy with those who find themselves in financial difficulty. Key knowledge and skills required include excellent management, communication and organisational skills; knowledge, understanding and experience of money management, consumer debt and financial services, and the MABS service in particular; familiarity with the provision of an advice, support and advocacy service, and IT skills.

Salary Scale

Money Advice Co-ordinator salary scale is currently €42,663 - €58,682 (including 2 long service increments). It is anticipated that new entrants to the MABS service will be appointed on the 1st point of the scale. Incremental credit, should it be awarded, will be based on previous relevant experience as set out on application form and cover letter.
