The Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) is a national, free, confidential and independent service, providing advice and support to people in debt or in danger of getting into debt. Each MABS company is rooted within the communities they serve and staff work with clients to enable them to cope with immediate debt problems and assist them to develop good money management skills.
North Leinster MABS is currently seeking a
Money Advice Co-ordinator (Longford/Westmeath)
Fixed Term (until 30 June 2021), Full Time (35 Hours per week)
Based in Longford
A vacancy exists for a temporary full time Money Advice Coordinator, whose role is to co-ordinate the management of Longford and Westmeath MABS. The position will be based in Longford. Candidates must display empathy with those who find themselves in financial difficulty. Key knowledge and skills required include excellent management, communication and organisational skills; knowledge, understanding and experience of money management, consumer debt and financial services, and the MABS service in particular; familiarity with the provision of an advice, support and advocacy service, and IT skills.
The full time salary scale for this positions is €42,663 to €58,682 (including 2 Long Service Increments (LSI)). It is anticipated that new entrants to the MABS service will be appointed on the 1st point of the scale. Incremental credit, should it be awarded, will be based on previous relevant experience as set out on the application form and covering letter.

MABS has a normal retirement age which is linked to the State Pension Age in Ireland (currently 66).
